Interesting comparative piece regarding President Obama of the United States and Prime Minister Bruce Golding of Jamaica. Apparently, it seems as if both men are caught up with the FETISHIZATION of CHANGE, as opposed to real, actual and substantive change. Hence, one questions their capabilities as transformational leaders. It is full time that both men stop exhibiting this sense or psychology of irrational reverence and excessive attachment/obsession to the notion --- a mental image or representation --- of change and start to put country or nation before their respective political parties, by implementing policies which are bold, courageous, applicable and in essence transformational re the numerous vexing problems extant in Jamaica and the United States, irrespective of the constant obstructionist disposition of both Opposition. And, in so doing their leadership capabilities and skills will rise to the fore. With regard to the remaining tenure of both leaders in terms of elections, it would definitely appear that both are already lame duck leaders, suggesting that they are both one term President and Prime Minister. Time is in essence running out and if they are to be transformational in any manner, shape or form, both Obama and Golding need to seize the time re change and stop the FETISHIZATION. Nuff respect!!
